The Opal Dealer's Wife is a show between friends featuring individual and collaborative works by Karl Fritsch, Brenda Nightingale and Lisa Walker. Fritsch presents 20 new rings on clay armatures and miniature radiata pine trees nurtured by Nightingale, contained in wonky pots and supported by sprung wire, found ply, and found objects. Nightingale's paintings, including large stretched canvases, use Harry the dog as a starting point but dissolve the figurative referent through brushstroke and palette choice. Walker's new work includes beads, embroidery and quilting, often painted and drawn upon, presented as wearable and sculptural pieces. Works are installed throughout the gallery space—on the floor, hung at the wall, and balanced on planks suspended on an old swing frame.
