Scale and the figure are central to Sam Harrison's sculptural practice. In Aggregate, objects in black and white, arranged from small to large and across floor and wall, explore spatial relationships. Female forms are modeled in plaster and aggregate, inverted on floor and plinth. A life-size torso is flocked in black, creating a velveteen surface that both enhances and obscures form depending on viewing distance. Wall-mounted works including Hock and Tumble continue this investigation of scale and material. The exhibition features flocked aggregate, plaster, steel, and wax-finished pieces, culminating in a large triptych that evokes abstraction from Rodin's Gates of Hell. Drawing from life remains Harrison's starting point, but the work extends through material experimentation, scale variation, and process innovation.
