Glimmer

Glimmer interrogates the passage of light along the Blue Mountains, dissolving the threshold of day into night. Taking a woman's perspective, the five artists—Amber Hearn, Hayley Zena, Nastia Gladushchenko, Shannon Smith and Ruby Rain—ask what we do during this time and how it impacts our perception of self. From putting kids into bed to observing wildlife, going for a bushwalk to making dinner, they watch light move through everyday life, echoing the march of time. The artists explore change, identity and the quotidian, creating connections between women in the city and the mountains through work that spans place, time, and language.
