[OBJECTS] IINTERTWINED

[OBJECTS] IINTERTWINED explores obscured systems and structures contributing to electronic waste, the world's fastest growing waste stream. The work questions our capacity for care towards ubiquitous objects of daily ritual that, once expired, become physical and material footprints on Earth. Case Study: Iron investigates assembly methods and fastening techniques, exploring how design can shape a future where object ownership deepens through emotional relationships and care practices. [IRON] INTERTWINED traces the historical development of irons in Australia through the Powerhouse Collection and archival sources. For the 2025 iteration, the work has been scored by musician Jason Styles with a soundscape accompanying video by Alice Adlide and Ben Styles.
