The Sky Between Us

The sky bears witness, stretching across suburban landscapes and connecting people through time. 'The Sky Between Us' is a new audiovisual artwork by leading Western Sydney artists Gillian Kayrooz and L-FRESH The LION, made in collaboration with five emerging Campbelltown artists. The work draws on the Campbelltown sky as a shared space where memory, history, and possibilities of the future converge. It examines how local histories move between generations and how communities shape their own narratives. The installation uses the postcard as its central framework, reimagined as a reflection on what is remembered and valued. The exhibition also features 'Sky Archive', a collective archive of hundreds of photographs of the sky at places of personal and cultural significance to individuals in Campbelltown.
