Floating Worlds

The name for this exhibition arrived from the Buddhist term Ukiyo which expresses the notion of the fleeting nature of life or transient world reflecting the cycle of death and rebirth. The concept behind these works is to represent the contrast between the permanence and transitional nature of the world, the passing of time. In both the paintings and sculptures there is a tension between the physical and the transient.
