Peter Watts is a distinguished landscape artist and finalist in the prestigious Glover Prize (2021, 2022, 2024, 2026). He is known for capturing ephemeral moments through his portrayal of light and shadow in the expansive skies and rural settings of Southern Australia. In 2022, Watts secured the 'People's Choice' award at the Glover Prize in Tasmania and 'Best in Show' at the Camberwell Art Prize in Melbourne. Born in Horsham, Victoria in 1963, his work is represented in galleries across Australia and Singapore. Working primarily in acrylic on Belgian linen, Watts navigates between realism and subtle abstraction, interpreting the dynamic cloudscapes and landscapes of Southern Australia.
