The NSW Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) program platforms the dynamism of early-career artists in New South Wales. Each year, finalists are selected by an independent assessment panel to develop ambitious presentations within a shared exhibition that brings diverse artistic practices into conversation. One finalist will receive $30,000 to undertake a self-directed professional development program. The 2026 exhibition brings together the work of Virginia Keft, Charles Levi, Tia Madden, Amelia Skelton, Sue Jo Wright, and collaborative duo Natasha Dubler and Caitlin Dubler. Traversing distinctive artistic languages, the exhibition examines shifting states between what is heard and seen, image and object, permanence and impermanence. Together, the artists suggest that materiality, sensation and intuitive forms of knowing can offer more expansive, even radical, ways of thinking and being. Supported by Create NSW, this long-standing fellowship has been presented at Artspace since 1997.
