A Gutful of Gold

A Gutful of Gold presents a solo exhibition by Tennant Creek Brio, a cross-cultural artist collective from a frontier community in Australia's interior. The gallery's three levels are transformed into a system of passages, passages lined with painted solar panels, explosive ordnance maps, and slot machines, alongside works exploring mythological and material histories of Tennant Creek and legacies of 20th-century global industrialism. Through painting, welding, and object-making, the collective reimagines these works in their signature style, evoking boom-and-bust cycles of Australia's industrial past and artistic futures along and beyond the Stuart Highway.
