Simple Love

Simple Love presents an intimate, hand-drawn animation centered on the life of Northern Beaches local Adam George. Known for his involvement in the 2017 Marriage Equality campaign and his appearance in the documentary Caught Inside: The Taboo of Being a Gay Surfer, Adam's story defies stereotype. A surfer, boxer, actor, musician and dancer raised in a Christian household, his narrative straddles masculinity and queerness. Narrated by Adam himself, the work explores the many forms love takes in his life—from romantic partnerships to canine companionship and the meditative rituals of boxing. Featuring Palm Beach, Whale Beach and Turrimetta, it is also a love letter to the Northern Beaches.
