Deep Space After Life explores the balance between preservation and loss in the natural environment. Using plant cuttings gathered from the Blue Mountains, Tom Maguire creates linocut pressings that serve as tributes to plants that have been removed. Each impression functions as a memorial, translating loss into tactile presence. The act of carving and printing becomes both a gesture of mourning and celebration, transforming absence into remembrance and offering the plants a symbolic afterlife. The work invites contemplation of cycles of growth and decay and questions our relationship with the environments we alter, protect, and depend upon.
