The Love of the Brute presents seductive but evasive protagonist goblins rendered as tangible CGI, placed in a real-world render baron garden among meticulously arranged fences in a destabilising layout. Taking its title from an explicit Japanese manga book, the exhibition explores Ficarra's synthetic realism and the transferal between virtual space and flatness. The fences create rooms that fold into themselves with nested corners, challenging linear reading. The work occupies a realm of collapsing frames, surface effect and hollow façade, existing at a threshold between inside and outside.
