Dictator Training Centre is a collaborative, participatory work that reimagines Wang Zhiyuan's 2005 piece Teaching Lies. Originally a personal advertisement inviting passersby to learn lying, this new iteration embraces collective authorship, developed with Passage Gallery staff, bricklayers, engineers, and the public. Rather than claiming authorship, Wang provides the artistic form; the work is truly collaborative and designed to be reused or adapted. Responding to our fragmented digital age and rise of populism, the work opens space for reflection on authoritarianism and individualism, questioning what it means to be a 'little dictator' in an era where everyone believes 'I am always right.'
