And Still I Rise

Named after Maya Angelou's famous collection of poetry, And Still I Rise brings together a group of culturally diverse women artists living in Australia, many of whom are internationally recognised. The exhibition spans generations, cultures and mediums, featuring works in textiles, painting, metalwork, installation and video. Each piece draws on lived experience and inherited memory, offering fresh perspectives on identity, history and belonging. Drawn from the Art Gallery of New South Wales' collection and supplemented with new commissions, the exhibition reaches beyond established narratives to explore a multiplicity of experiences.
