Beneath the Surface

Curated by Yue Wang as part of the Vermilion Art Young Curator Program, Beneath the Surface presents works by five female artists exploring the relationship between consciousness and material form. Drawing on alchemical tradition—the idea that inner perception translates into visible form—the exhibition creates a space where material and spirit interact. The works of Larisa Tao Liu, Helen Morgan, Jessica Smith, Tao Aimin, and Zhang Shuo reveal the spiritual essence beneath material appearance, inviting viewers to reflect upon their own inner world through engagement with the artworks.
