An interactive exhibition featuring hand-built ceramic sculptures by Mechelle Bounpraseuth that honour the family dining table and the labour of preparing and sharing food. Large-scale works depict towers of mangosteens, bowls of dragon fruits, and stacks of canned food, with fruit—especially from her Lao parents' homeland—given sacred status as a currency of love. Visitors are invited to gather at tables or saat (Lao floor mats) to share flavours, dishes and stories unique to them. Visitors can create offerings at an elaborate fruit shrine or decorate labels for cans to add to shelves. Drawing on childhood memories and family rituals, the exhibition emphasises the role of young people in cultural continuation. The title, Sou Sou, is a Lao phrase of encouragement meaning 'you can do it!' or 'stay strong!'
